Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Where the heck is my _____, that I just uploaded?
A: When you upload something, it goes into a holding area named "My Content" at the bottom of the left hand list. From there you can drag your content to your site's pages.
Q: I can't seem to do anything. What's going on?
A: You probably are in a different area. Look for the "Build" button near the top of your screen, and click on it. Once you are in the "Build" area, you should be able to drag "My Content" items into your individual tabs.
Q: I am trying to upload something from my computer (flash drive, etc.), and it says it already exists or that it is a bad filename. Why won't it upload?
A: EFolio does not like filenames that have spaces or certain special characters. Try resaving the original file to your computer or device as a simple file-name with no spaces and upload that one. This works a majority of the time.
Q: I wrote in a text box, but it doesn't come up when I look at the preview.
A: You probably wrote in the "Brief Text" box. For whatever reason, this appears to be a box that does not actually show up on the site. Perhaps it is to make a note for the person building the site, not about the content, but who knows. In any case, you want to paste or write in the "Full Text" box below it, which will show up once it is saved.
Q: I need to add or remove a tab. How do I do that?
A: To add a tab to your home page, click on the heading for home page (right side), and click on the green "plus" button. This will allow you to name a new tab page. To delete a tab, click on the tab itself (not HOME, or you will lose that), and then click on the red minus button. Same process goes for child pages.
Q: What is the "URL Shortcut" field all about. It asks for one every time I add a page?
A: The URL Shortcut is just the tag the website uses to keep pages straight, it means nothing to the creator or user. Just enter a few letters from your title and forget about it.
Q: Should I use File, Basic, Artifact, or what?
A: That is really your choice. By using Artifact, you can use "related content" to add a file or URL in addition to the description and other information you intend to place. It seems best to use some combination than just to place files. The "related content" area under most of the pre-made templates allows for a lot of additional blocks to be mixed in.
